Morning  Program: 9:00am-12:00pm : CERT volunteers train to the CTSART program

The program consists of Two Modules to be taught the same day to allow all CERT volunteers to be cross trained to be CTSART volunteers. Trainees must be CERT certified.

CTSART is a volunteer program organized to help prepare our state for any disasters

involving animals. Our goal is to facilitate a prompt, effective response to emergencies

involving animals. CTSART missions include deployment of co-located companion animal

evacuation shelters, building volunteer networks trained and state certified to assist

with animals in need in disasters and public education.

Upon completion of the two modules, volunteers will be sworn in to be certified to respond to animals in disaster. Volunteers will work as a team, under the auspices of a CTSART Regional Leader.

Afternoon Program: 12:30pm -4:00pm Animal Shelter Training Exercise

The training will consist of a short PowerPoint on “how to” set up an animal shelter. It will be followed by a live exercise reviewing the components of animal sheltering including reception, canine and feline housing and care. The goal is to train volunteers to use standardized forms and protocols wherever an animal shelter is established.

All CERT volunteers are welcome. Please pass the email on to interested parties.

Coffee, Tea, and snacks will be provided.

Trainees are welcome to bring a bag lunch and beverage to enjoy during the training.

Any current CTSART volunteers are welcome.
