Providing Prevention Response & Recovery for Animal Emergencies

The CTSART program's strength lies in its volunteers from all across Connecticut. Our capacity is being built almost entirely by volunteers like YOU. We need volunteers with every imaginable skill. Common jobs for volunteers may include:

Administration, animal handler, clerical, communications, driver, laborer, public relations, veterinarian, veterinary technician, webmaster

We are organized at the local level into Regional Animal Response Teams. To become a CTSART volunteer, there are a few easy steps.

To become a credentialed volunteer you should work towards completion of the following Independent Study (IS) Programs at this site, as well as Basic CERT. During your completion of certifications, please attend your regions meetings or contact your Region Animal Response Team Leader to learn how to get involved.

You will also need to complete Basic CERT, which is given locally in many municipalities and occasionally by CTSART Regional Animal Response Teams themselves. Talk to your Regional Animal Response Team Leader about how to accomplish Basic CERT in or near your community
